Happy New Year to the Radiant Orchid
Pantone recently announced Radiant Orchid as the 2014 Color of the Year. A polar opposite of last year’s color of the year Emerald, this beautiful color “reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.
Radiant Orchid is “a captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple, and pink undertones,” and “emanates great joy, love, and health.” That’s good news for gem lovers, as its warm hue encompasses a number of gemstones that are easy on the eyes.

The colors of these pink diamonds range from a Fancy Intense purplish pink marquise on the far left, to a Fancy Intense pink in the emerald cut and a Fancy Intense orangy pink in the rectangular diamond on the far right.
