GIA Celebrates Birthstones

If you want to learn more about your birthstone or enjoy browsing some spectacular gems, be sure to make your way to the “GIA Celebrates Birthstone” exhibit at GIA Headquarters in Carlsbad, California. Whether browsing a variety of polished gems, or taking in some of the spectacular jewelry on display, you won’t want to miss this rare opportunity.

Based upon a successful longer-term exhibition held at the San Diego International Airport, the exhibit is filled with over 250 gems, minerals and jewelry from around the world. With stones such as diamonds, turquoise and tanzanite, it is a fascinating exhibit regardless of the month you were born.

Among the highlights is an enormous 7,600-carat natural blue topaz (the birthstone of November); a 20-strand necklace featuring a rainbow of Sapphire beads; as well as an enormous 22,000-carat faceted quartz.

It takes a steady hand.
